How to request account deletion
Follow the steps below. You can use the in-app flow (or API) to deactivate your account immediately. For full erasure of your personal data from our systems, contact us using the email address below so we can verify your request.
- Open CityGuide Sign in with the same account (email, phone, or Google sign-in) you use on Google Play.
- Use the in-app “Delete account” option In the app, open your profile or account settings and choose delete / close account. The app calls our service to deactivate your account so you can no longer sign in.

Authenticated clients may call:

This performs the same deactivation as the app. - Request complete data deletion (if needed) If you need your profile and activity data removed from our databases—not only deactivation—email us from the address on your account and ask for “full account and data deletion.” We will verify ownership and process the request as required by applicable law.

Our team is configuring a dedicated inbox. Until it appears here, use the developer contact email shown on our Google Play store listing for the same request text (“full account and data deletion”) and include the email address you use to sign in to CityGuide.
What data is removed or kept
In-app / API deactivation (steps 2–3 above):
- Immediate effect: Your account is marked inactive; you cannot sign in again until we manually restore it (we do not offer self-service reactivation today).
- Still stored: Your profile fields (such as name, email, phone, date of birth, preferences, language, city, and linked Google identifier if you use Google sign-in), profile photo file if uploaded, and your activity in the app—including reviews, trips and itineraries, wishlists and bookmarks, visit and view history, and likes—remain in our databases as it was before deactivation.
Verified full deletion (step 4, by email):
- Removed from active systems: Your user record and the app data tied to it above are deleted or anonymized in our production database, to the extent technically practical.
- May be retained temporarily: Security and access logs, and encrypted backups, may still contain your data for a limited time (typically up to 90 days) before rotation or automatic expiry, and longer where we must comply with legal obligations.
- Aggregated or non-personal data (for example, statistics that do not identify you) may be kept.
